Norwegian scientist Kristian Birkeland was the first to demonstrate how Northern Lights are created by solar storms. With this so-called Terrella experiment on can create Northern Lights (Aurora borealis and Aurora australis). The solar wind (electron flow), which can be adjusted manually via a regulator, is the source of this beautiful phenomenon.
